Shockers Topple Interns as Fisher Shines
|
The Surprise Shockers grabbed a 4-2 win over the Capital Hill Interns at Alouettes Ballpark. Surprise third baseman Robbie Fisher was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. The winner was Surprise reliever Tommy Tillman, now 3-2. The loser was Pedro Garza. Mark Adams earned the save, his 15th.
Fisher had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 cutter from Pedro Garza, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Shockers a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Fisher.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Fisher said.
Surprise, at 42-44, sits in 7th place in the Silver R.
