Sea Dogs Get One-Run Win at Watford City
|
Maine and Watford City duked it out at Trash Panda Field and the Sea Dogs came out victorious.
The Maine Sea Dogs beat the Watford City Trash Pandas, 9-8, at Trash Panda Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Dao Ngo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Maine reliever Michael O'Donnell, now 1-0. The loser was Han-wu Men.
The outcome might have been different for Maine, had it not been for Héctor Ancelno, the 17-year old center fielder . Ancelno stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Maine up, 9-7. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Ancelno.
The win pushes Maine to a record of 3-1.
