Warheads Edge Past Shockers, 2-1

Amarillo played host to Surprise at the friendly confines of Ballpark of Henderson.
The Surprise Shockers got a superb performance from pitcher Cole Ash, but the Amarillo Warheads still won the game, 2-1. Ash was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Tom Stewart picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Cole Ash was tagged with the loss.
Amarillo took control in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Yataro Nagai hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Warheads.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Nagai.
With the win over Surprise, the Warheads improved to 29-40.
