With first baseman Asko Huhtamo leading the charge, the Capital Hill Interns defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 6-5, at Alouettes Ballpark. Huhtamo went 2-2 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Charles Harvey got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Capital Hill is 5th in the Silver R with a record of 32-26.
Huhtamo came through with some timely hitting for Capital Hill. With the score 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, Huhtamo hit a 0-1 splitter for a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season made it 2-1, Capital Hill.
"It feels good to get this one," Huhtamo told the Capital Hill Chronicle.
