Behind a solid performance from catcher Kung Wa, the Surprise Shockers defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 11-5. Wa went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Shockers. The Shockers saw their win-loss record go to 23-29. At the same time, the Snowpeople fell to 22-30.

Surprise relied on the bat of Juan Olivas to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Shockers ahead, 6-3. For the game, Olivas had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Wa told the Surprise Citizen.
