Shockers Hang 4-1 Loss on Rams

The Surprise Shockers defeated the Ladue Rams, 4-1, at ďAbbots Ballpark. Surprise right fielder Tony Floyd was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Jim Murray picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-5. He struck out 7 in 7 innings. After today's action, Surprise sits at 22-26, while Ladue falls to 24-24.
Had Robbie Fisher not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Fisher hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Shockers.
