Warheads Drop Another One
|
Surprise and Amarillo duked it out at Ballpark of Henderson and the Shockers came out victorious.
The Surprise Shockers faced a tough opponent in Amarillo pitcher Álex Alagna, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Henderson by a final score of 4-1. Alagna went 8.2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Surprise reliever Cristián Torres picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Álex Alagna was collared with the loss. Mark Adams, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
Surprise used the bat of Rodger Parsons to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Shockers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Feels good to get the job done," Parsons said after the game.
The current losing streak for Amarillo has reached 6 games.
