Cougars Win at Ladue, 4-1
|
The Valley View Cougars picked up a win at Ballpark of Wellsville, knocking off the Ladue Rams, 4-1. Starting pitcher Jesús Ríos played a key role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Ríos surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The first-place Cougars have won 4 straight.
Valley View used the clutch hitting of Brian Thomas to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Cougars the lead, 3-0. For the game, Thomas had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
