Fire Roll to 8-3 Win Over Shockers
|
Franklin starter John Ellis had a strong outing against the Surprise Shockers at ïAbbots Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. Ellis got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Ellis allowed 3 earned runs. The Fire bumped their record to 17-13 with this latest triumph.
The result might have been different for Franklin, had it not been for Raúl Bermúdez. The second baseman produced a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Fire ahead, 2-0. For the game, Bermúdez had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"We came out aggressive," said Fire manager Mark Davis. "We came out swinging the bats."
