The Capital Hill Interns got a superb performance from pitcher Pedro Garza, but the Valley View Cougars still won the game, 4-3. Garza was named the player of the game despite the loss. He came in in relief and pitched to 21 batters . Valley View reliever Ray Armstrong picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Pedro Garza shouldered the loss. The Cougars go to 18-11, putting them second in the Silver R.

Valley View used the timely hitting of Chandler Schroeder to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was an important one.

"If we keep winning the close games," Schroeder said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
