The Surprise Shockers topped the Franklin Fire, 5-2, with youngster Ryan McLeod playing a key role. McLeod went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Shockers in the win. Coyote Peterson was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. With the win, the Shockers improved to 12-17.

Surprise designated hitter Rubén Larreta contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into left field for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Shockers ahead, 4-2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McLeod told the Surprise Citizen.
