The Quebec City Baby Blues took Valley View pitcher William Averett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hillandale Grounds. The final score had Quebec City getting past the Cougars, 2-1. Averett went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 8. The Baby Blues move to 15-10 with the win, while the Cougars drop to 15-10.
Quebec City used the timely hitting of Brian Dyball to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baby Blues on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Dyball called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
