Valley View Cougars starter Greg Ayala was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-1. The second-place Cougars have won 4 in a row.

Valley View used the timely hitting of Mhelter Tejano to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Cougars on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Ayala said.
