The Franklin Fire got a superb performance from pitcher Pedro Rodríguez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ladue. The Rams won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Rodríguez was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. Ladue reliever Dong-choon Yi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jian-ying Yep was saddled with the loss. The win takes Ladue to 3-5.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Ladue trailing 3-1, Dan Webb hit a fastball from Jian-ying Yep for a 3-run home run, giving the Rams the walk-off win.
After the game, Ladue manager Dave Parrish applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
