Lostedt Now 8-6 After Subduing Rhinos
|
Long Island beat Redwood at Ducks Park, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Jalmari Lostedt, who earned player of the game honors. Everton Stirzacre converted his 3rd save in 3 tries. Long Island has 4 straight wins, Redwood 5 straight losses.
The Ducks liked what they saw from Lostedt. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Rhinos to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, and striking out 13.
"We were in it," said Redwood manager Frank Bass. "We just didn't score enough runs."
