Biscuits Jolt Lead Sox with Late Rally
|
Montgomery starter Albert Zalazar pitched effectively against the Indiana Lead Sox at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 6-1 win. Jason Stevens, credited with the win, is now 3-13. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Arturo Sánchez picked up the save, his 3rd.
António Hernández found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Indiana hurler Carlos Hernández, the 18-year-old first baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 12th walk of the season put the Biscuits on top, 2-1.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Zalazar.
Even with the win, the Biscuits have a dismal 30-56 record.
