Indiana Lead Sox starter Roland Sheffield turned in an exceptional performance against the Redwood Rhinos at The Lead Mine, resulting in a Indiana win, 2-1. The winner was Indiana reliever Aurelio Pampoldi, now 5-2. The loser was Juan Barrón. The 7th-place Lead Sox are now 41-42, the Rhinos 32-51.
Indiana took a 2-1 lead on Aimo Joenlahti's 32nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Joenlahti hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Redwood pitcher Juan Barrón visibly frustrated.
"Both teams played hard," said Indiana manager Bill Callahan.
