Hounds Score Late to Upend Centennial, 4-3
|
Ballpark of Baxter was the site of a competitive game between the Fort Knox Centennial and Hicksville Hounds.
The Hicksville Hounds topped the Fort Knox Centennial, 4-3, in USPL Rookie action at Ballpark of Baxter. The player of the game was Hicksville pitcher Edgardo Costello. Hicksville reliever Devin Alvarado picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Stuart Chase was saddled with the loss.
Hicksville relied on the hitting of Arturo Iglésias to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hounds on top, 4-3. For the game, Iglésias had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Fort Knox skipper Jesús Román, "and it cost us."
The 8th-place Hounds lifted their record to 33-41.
