Ducks Get One-Run Win at Memphis
|
Ducks designated hitter Danny Stone put his stamp on his team's 4-3 win over the Memphis Music. Stone went 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Long Island in the contest. Jimmy McDonald, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save. The win puts the Ducks at 41-33, while the Music drop to 41-33.
Stone contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Long Island in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Stone took a fastball from Miguel Morales and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Ducks to leap in front, 3-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Stone told the Long Island Daily.
