The Hicksville Hounds got a stellar performance from pitcher Edgardo Costello, who handcuffed the Montgomery offense en route to a 3-0 win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The Hounds raised their record to 32-37.

Costello, a native of Puebla, Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept Montgomery hitters off-balance, while giving the Hounds 8 quality innings. Costello threw 94 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 9.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Júlio Aguirre. "That was the problem."
