Hounds Solve Ducks, 4-3
|
Despite a great performance by Long Island shortstop Kyle Michaud, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Ducks by the score of 4-3 at Hound Pound. Michaud was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Devin Alvarado was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 8 save opportunities. Hicksville occupies 8th place in the Premier R at 31-35.
Had José López not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, López hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Hounds.
"It was our day today," López told the Hicksville Daily News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
