The Long Island Ducks defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 4-2, in USPL Rookie action at Hound Pound, with Long Island shortstop Kyle Michaud named player of the game. Reliever Francisco Vega picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Tim Stroud took the loss. The 7th-place Hounds have lost 4 consecutive games.

Long Island used the timely hitting of Robert Green to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Ducks on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Green.
