Tigers Losing Streak at 8 After Extra-Inning Loss to Rhinos
|
The Twinsburg Tigers wasted an impressive 5.2-inning effort from starter José Cruz, falling 1-0 to the Redwood Rhinos at Dodge Field. Reliever Jesús Mercado picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Vicente Zanga took the loss. The losses continue to add up for Twinsburg, which has now fallen 8 times in a row.
Redwood used the timely hitting of Carlos Viera to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rhinos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Redwood field general Frank Bass.
