Hounds Deal Biscuits Painful Loss
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Juan Martínez, the Montgomery Biscuits suffered a 8-7 loss to the Hicksville Hounds. Martínez went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Hicksville reliever Daniel Tucker picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Félix Torres was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Hounds improved to 17-19.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Hicksville trailing 7-6, Pedro Costa hit a cutter from Félix Torres for a 2-run home run, giving the Hounds the walk-off win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Costa said after the game.
