Multi-HR Day for Muñíz as Tigers Overpower Ducks, 5-2
|
Twinsburg third baseman Jesús Muñíz was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Long Island Ducks. Muñíz went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tigers. Tadao Ishihara got the win, improving to 5-1. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Vicente Zanga, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
In the first inning, Muñíz had a grand slam home run for Twinsburg. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Tigers on top, 4-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Twinsburg manager Morton Kelly.
The Tigers, at 19-13, sit in third place in the Premier R.
