The Redwood Rhinos got a superb performance from pitcher Xin-fang Zha, but the Hicksville Hounds still won the game, 3-2. Zha was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Hicksville reliever Devin Alvarado was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Gustavo Ruíz. Daniel Tucker earned the save, his 4th, for the Hounds.
Neither team could produce runs. So, Erik Weinstein's at-bat in the top of the tenth was critical. With no one out, the Hicksville center fielder hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Weinstein.
The losing streak for Redwood has now reached 4 games.
