Biscuits Lose to Lead Sox in Walk Off
|
The Montgomery Biscuits wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Albert Zalazar, falling 1-0 to the Indiana Lead Sox at The Lead Mine. Indiana reliever Les Wright picked up the win to move to 1-3. Stu Sutherland suffered the loss. The Biscuits, now 6-12, continue their slow start.
John Williams was the walk-off hero for Indiana. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lead Sox designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
Afterward, Lead Sox manager Bill Callahan was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
