Rhinos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Redwood Rhinos defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 8-4, at Hound Pound today. Leading the charge for Redwood was third baseman Luis Ibáñez. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Redwood reliever Gustavo Ruíz was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Jimmy Young took the loss for Hicksville. The Hounds drop to 6-9 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2041 season.
Ibáñez put Redwood up, 8-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Jimmy Young in the top of the third. His 1st home run of the season helped the Rhinos capture the win.
Ibáñez expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
