Otters Score Late, Stun Ducks, 5-4
|
The Tulsa Otters picked up a win at Ballpark of Hughesville, knocking off the Long Island Ducks, 5-4. Starting pitcher Horace Cope, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Ducks fall to 5-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Tulsa trailing 4-3, Cisco Gracía hit a slider from Jimmy McDonald for a 2-run home run, giving the Otters the walk-off win.
"I liked his command," said Tulsa manager Luis Díaz. "Horace was throwing strikes."
