Redwood left-hander José Torres pitched his team to victory over the Hicksville Hounds at Hound Pound. The final score was 2-1. In 6.2 innings, Torres surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Hounds fall to 6-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2041 season.
The Hounds had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rhinos going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old left fielder Lewis Burnell came to the plate. Burnell hit a run-scoring single on a 1-2 slider from Hicksville hurler Tim Stroud. It was Burnell's 4th hit of the year.
