Twinsburg Wins 5-1 to Continue Red Hot Start

Twinsburg played host to Crowley at the friendly confines of Dodge Field.
José Cruz was superb against Crowley. The right-hander had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 5-1 Tigers victory. Cruz, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 1 walk. Raúl Nieves got credit for the save for Twinsburg. It was his 2nd of the year.
In the top of the seventh, Mike Townsend stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Cajuns were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Héctor Villegas made a terrific pitch and Townsend struck out. Gone was the dream of a Crowley comeback.
At 10-3, the Tigers have played well so far.
