Crowley Cajuns starter Kane Hallworth had all his pitches working at Titans Ballpark. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 11-1 Crowley win over the Redwood Rhinos. Hallworth, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The Cajuns, now 7-1, have stormed out of the gates.
Alan Shepherd, the Crowley shortstop, contributed a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 11-1, Cajuns. For the game, Shepherd went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll savor this win," Hallworth told the Crowley News, "then get ready for the next game."
