Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Comets
|
Fans who congregated at Fuller Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Kent Comets picked up a win at Fuller Park, knocking off the Tennessee Smokies, 3-1. Starting pitcher Michael Ramsey, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Gypsyamber D'Souza, credited with the win, is now 7-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.
Kent won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Steve Davis on the mound for Tennessee, pinch hitter Bobby O'Kennedy hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Comets fans to their feet.
"We take it day by day here," said Ramsey, "and today was a good one for us."
The slumping Smokies have lost 6 straight.
