Arryns Get One-Run Win at South Beach
|
The South Beach Blaze got a superb performance from pitcher Shan-tang Yang. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Lake Erie. The Arryns won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Yang was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Damarco Lyons, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 3-5. With the win, Lake Erie goes to 34-55, while the Blaze fall to 61-28.
Aloysius Szymanski tagged a home run off Shan-tang Yang in the top of the fifth. His solo blast put the Arryns on top, 2-1. In all, Szymanski had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Szymanski said after the game.
