Comets Come Back Late to Top Smokies
|
The Kent Comets got a stellar effort from pitcher Randy Ryan, helping Kent score a 3-2 win over the visiting Tennessee Smokies. Kent reliever Gypsyamber D'Souza was credited with the win, to go to 6-4. Steve Davis took the loss for Tennessee. The Smokies, at 31-57, have lost 5 straight games.
Takahashi Yano was the walk-off hero for Kent. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Comets left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Yano.
