Kent pitcher Rob Butler did his part in helping his team beat the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Eddie de Vlaming in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Kenny Pollock took the loss. Gypsyamber D'Souza locked down his 14th save.
Octávio Obezo's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a cutter from José Luján for a run-scoring single. It put Kent in front, 4-3.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Rocky Mountain manager Brooks Dempsey, "let me know."
Kent currently is in 5th place in the Premier A at 48-39.
