Guzzlers Prevail, 3-1, Over Cut Off
|
Fans who gathered at Galesburg Field saw a good contest between the Galesburg Guzzlers and Cut Off Crawdads.
The Galesburg Guzzlers took Cut Off pitcher Bhu Damocles's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Galesburg Field. The final score had Galesburg getting past the Crawdads, 3-1. Damocles went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 4. Galesburg reliever Li-chi Lou was credited with the win, to go to 5-0. Bhu Damocles took the loss for Cut Off.
Galesburg took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, first baseman Ching Sun hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
Afterward, Guzzlers manager Curt Kenney was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The 4th-place Guzzlers now have a win-loss record of 48-38.
