Cut Off got a terrific game from right fielder Vicente Perales. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lake Erie, 8-5. Perales was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Lake Erie reliever Aleksandr Lovenetsky picked up the win to move to 2-6. Lonnie Rhodes suffered the loss. Lake Erie occupies 9th place in the Premier A at 31-51.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Carlos Valle came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cut Off pitcher Ron Francis, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lake Erie on top, 6-5.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Valle.
