Vandals Get One-Run Win at Chicago
|
Chicago got a terrific game from first baseman Brad Dyer. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Eugene, 4-3. Dyer was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tommy Moore was credited with the save for Eugene, his 9th of the season. Eugene currently is in 7th place in the Premier A at 31-50.
Eugene needed the clutch hitting of Ken Francis to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vandals on top, 2-1. For the game, Francis had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Francis.
