Flamingos Lose to Outlaws, 3-2
|
The Nashville Outlaws did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Las Vegas Flamingos at The Strip. Nobody did more than pitcher Ramón Flores, who captured player of the game honors. Flores picked up the win for Nashville, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Mark Zaugg, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Nashville relied on the hitting of Nikolai Volkoff to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Outlaws on top, 2-1. For the game, Volkoff had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Las Vegas skipper JJ Hoban, "and it cost us."
With the win, Nashville pushes its record to 9-6.
