South Beach starter Mark Finley had a strong outing against the Cut Off Crawdads at Crawdads Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Félix Ortíz closed the game out for South Beach, earning his 1st save. South Beach is now 42-13, 5˝ games up in the Premier A.

It could have been a different outcome for South Beach, had it not been for Duane Halfyard, the 20-year old second baseman . Halfyard contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put South Beach up, 2-0.

Halfyard told a South Beach Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
