|
The inspired effort of Lake Erie right fielder Carlos Valle was not enough to prevent a 9-6 loss to the Galesburg Guzzlers. Valle went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Anathapinda Sahar got the win, improving to 2-4. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 6 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Lake Erie has now lost 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the third, Galesburg designated hitter Freddie Butterworth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Butterworth stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, Galesburg. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll savor this win," Butterworth told the Galesburg Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
