Outlaws Best Flamingos in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight game between the Nashville Outlaws and the Las Vegas Flamingos, pitcher Jesús Cruz was terrific on the mound. The Nashville right-hander was named the player of the game in Nashville's 2-1 win. Cruz got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Cruz allowed 1 earned run. The loss lowers the Las Vegas record to 5-8.
It could have been a different outcome for Nashville, had it not been for Bartolo Soto, the 31-year old right fielder . Soto contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Nashville up, 2-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Nashville manager Ryan Naylor.
