Comets Sneak Past Gold Sox, 3-2
|
The Kent Comets got a strong performance from pitcher Eddie de Vlaming, who stymied the Chicago offense en route to a 3-2 win at Little Gold Sox Park. Reliever Jorge Pagán picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Armando Sosa took the loss. The Comets now have a record of 15-23 with the win over Chicago.
Kent used the bat of Bobby O'Kennedy to capture the win. The pinch hitter jacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Comets ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a dandy.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said de Vlaming.
