Late Rally by Guzzlers Secures Win
|
The Galesburg Guzzlers beat the Kent Comets, 3-2, at Fuller Park. The Guzzlers got a fine performance from catcher Ignacio Páez, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. Galesburg reliever Li-chi Lou got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Hyeon-uk Sa was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Vasquo Lousada, his 2nd.
Páez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 slider from Hyeon-uk Sa, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Guzzlers a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Páez.
Páez called the triumph "a good team win."
The 5th-place Guzzlers have won 4 straight games.
