|
South Beach rode a good effort from starter Bobby Dunn to beat the Kent Comets at Fuller Park. The final score was 4-2. Dunn, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. The Blaze, now 13-4, have been red hot.
South Beach used a timely hit from Juan Lugo to get the win. The shortstop delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blaze on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said South Beach manager Vicente Rodríguez.
