Hot Start Continues for Blaze
Kent pitcher Eddie de Vlaming gave the Blaze all they could handle, but in the end, South Beach left Fuller Park with a 6-3 win. de Vlaming allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings. The winner was Robert Moody, who threw 89 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. Luke Corner finished to wrap up his 1st save.

South Beach used the timely hitting of Tim Wright to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blaze ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Wright said.

The Blaze, now 12-4, have hit the ground running this season.
