Fans who gathered at Arryns Ballpark saw a good contest between the Lake Erie Arryns and Kent Comets.

The Lake Erie Arryns eked out a 2-1 win versus the Kent Comets at Arryns Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Glenn van der Kuijl, who captured player of the game honors. van der Kuijl went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0.

Trent Armstrong had a big run-scoring triple for the Arryns in the bottom of the first inning. With Lake Erie leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from Leonardo Sánchez and stroked the triple to right. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Arryns ahead, 2-0.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Lake Erie manager António Pineda said.

Lake Erie, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.
