The Washington Generals topped the Laredo Hawks, 7-4, in USSL Single A action at Washington Park. The player of the game was Washington pitcher and Depew, New York native Ricky Mina. Mina went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-3. Randy Keith earned the save, his 27th.
One of the key players for the Generals was right fielder Sam Bickerton, who drilled a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, Bickerton went 3-5 with a triple and a double.
