Laredo Hawks starter Patrick Le Gall turned in a sterling performance against the Grim Reapers, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Le Gall, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Domingo Jones got the save, his 9th in 10 chances.

Scott Beavis had a big run-scoring single for the Hawks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Laredo leading 2-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a cutter from Roberto Punyed and stroked the single to center. It was his 19th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 3-0.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Le Gall.

Laredo is now riding a 3-game win streak.
